Rant: Business Words
I've recently discovered a hideous term: buy-off. This awkward combination of "buy-in" and "sign-off" is used in the following manner, "we'll need buy-off from three people before we can send the document".

That word sounds like it was created during Jean Chretien's cabinet discussions, less because of his mangled syntax but more due to his penchant for skullduggery.
I can think of a certain Associate Secretary of Cabinet in a rather large province who would have employed a similar term with similar motives.
