Stephane Dion: Economic Nationalist Nutter

Liberal leader Stephane Dion is accusing the Conservative government of setting up Canadian corporations for foreign takeover. Because economic nationalism and foreign ownership restrictions are the hallmarks of good economic policy. It is becoming increasingly clear that this man is a dangerous loon.

Keeping singing that song brotha. Ask Europe just how well Economic Nationalism has worked out. It is one of my biggest pet peeves.

Agreed - I have no doubt he eyes Europe with envy. In fairness, he hasn't yet advocated ownership limits, but I bet that's next.

This garbage about how Canadian companies are undervalued because of the Conservatives' tax policy is garbage. The TSX market cap increased after the income trust changes and a number of trusts themselves have already been picked off in acquisitions. I guess that pointing out that private equity is awash with cash doesn't sell as well.
